Skoda started its successful story back in 1895. The vehicle production started from the manufacture of bicycles and motorcycles. At the turn of the XX century the company decided to begin the car production. Since 1905 Skoda cars have gained the popularity among the car fans and shown significant commercial results.
Skoda factories didn’t stop their activity even during the Great Depression, only slowed it down a little bit. However, even at that difficult time Skoda managed to develop new car models. After 1945 Skoda became a monopolist at the market of private cars in the Eastern European countries. During 1945 – 1989 the market witnessed the appearance of four new cars: Tudor, Spartak, Octavia and Felicia.
The new era began in 1990 when Skoda signed an agreement with Volkswagen AG and became a part of Volkswagen Group. Since then Skoda Auto a.s. has demonstrated sustainable development and technological breakthrough with the support of its powerful partner. Models that were popular in the past – Felicia, Octavia – were given a new lease of life. The company also renovated its production with the appearance of new successful models: Fabia and Rapid. Moreover, the Skoda’ crown jewel is Skoda Superb with its two editions.
Skoda is not a local company anymore. Skoda operates assembling facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Russia, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. Technological success and traditions are constantly supported by new experts who graduate from Skoda Auto University and technical school.
That is why drivers in different countries can enjoy the elegance and exquisite style of Skoda Superb, functional options of Skoda Octavia, manoeuvrability of Skoda Yeti and affordability of Skoda Fabia.
